Eye spy lice Was my lifesaver I had been dealing with this issue back-and-forth for quite a few months between households and I had my girls completely cleared by school and also by Dr and they ended up with it again at that point my older daughter is very hard to do long hair, curly hair and a lot of things hide so I brought in this professional and she went above and beyond. How do you get rid of lice fast?

Professional manual removals are the most reliable method for getting rid of head lice. Our goal is to conduct a complete removal of live lice and nits in a single visit. Most appointments take about 45-60 minutes.

What kills lice instantly?

No product kills lice and nits “instantly,” including over the counter shampoos. Which is why manual removal is considered the gold standard for this industry. Many head lice populations have also developed resistance to pesticide based OTC products.

Can you get lice from a hat or hairbrush?

Yes, though it’s less common than head-to-head contact. Lice can survive briefly on hats, brushes, helmets, and pillowcases, which is why washing these in hot water is recommended after a case is discovered.

Do lice treatments work on all hair types?

Yes. Eye Spy’s technicians are trained to work with all hair textures and lengths, including curly and coily hair, adjusting technique and timing as needed for each hair type.

What’s the difference between lice and dandruff?

Dandruff flakes brush off easily and vary in size; nits (lice eggs) are firmly glued to the hair shaft close to the scalp and don’t flake away with brushing. Nits are also typically found near the same spots — behind the ears and at the nape of the neck.

How do I check my child for lice at home?

Part hair in small sections and look closely at the scalp, especially behind the ears and along the neckline, for tiny white specks glued to hair strands (nits) or small moving insects. Bright light and a fine-tooth comb make specks easier to spot.

Why didn’t drugstore lice shampoo work?

Most over-the-counter lice shampoos use pesticide-based ingredients that many lice populations have grown resistant to, sometimes called “super lice.” Over the counter products often fails to remove the nits (eggs), which then hatch and restart the cycle. Manual comb outs by a trained professional are much more successful than DIY drug store treatments.

How can I prevent head lice?

Lice spread mainly through direct head-to-head contact, so the biggest prevention step is discouraging kids from sharing hats, hairbrushes, headphones, and helmets. Tying back long hair, especially during sleepovers, sports, or school photo days when contact is common, also lowers risk. Since lice can survive briefly off the scalp, washing pillowcases, hats, and brushes in hot water after any known exposure adds an extra layer of protection.
